We are all aware that postal rates are going up effective this next Monday, May 14th, right? First class mail, formerly 39 cents, is now 41 cents, and postcards, formerly 24 cents, are now going to require 26 cents. The entire new price structure can be found at http://www.usps.com/prices/. All classes of mail, including Priority Mail and Media Mail, are affected, but the first class rate and the postcard rate are the two that Snail Sweepers need to be most aware of.
Had I not been so bone-headed, I could have reminded you earlier today to send out all the entries you can this weekend, since today was the last day the old postage rate structure was in effect. You could have saved yourself 2 cents per entry! So unless you know of a post office near you that processes mail on Sundays.... and I've been told there's a few around the country that do... be sure to stick some 2-cent stamps on your mail effective Monday, if you don't have any of the new stamps handy yet. You can save yourself the gas for a trip to the post office by ordering online at the USPS online postage store. I also noticed today at Costco that they are selling rolls of 41-cent stamps for 40.75, if you are a member and are interested in saving a quarter.
